270 Degree panorama of sunrise from Rogers Rock, Lake George

This panorama was photographed on a brisk January 2001 morning overlooking Lake George. The temperatures were hovering about 10 below zero while the sun rose over the mountain ridge. A light breeze from out of the south was gently blowing the mist on the water's surface up the lake. A fresh snowfall covered all the evergreens and branches with a soft fluffy mantle of white. The view from the open overlook on the south side of Rogers Rock offers quite a spectacular view of Anthony's Nose and the northern half of Lake George.

The trail up over the rock ledges to the lookout was quite icy from all the seepage over the open rock. I highly recommend anyone climbing Rogers Rock in the winter to wear crampons and be prepared for the icy conditions.
