360 Nature panorama of the High Peaks and Saranacs from Ampersand

I've climbed Ampersand a number of times in all seasons of the year, and camped in the area a couple of times, too. The summit view is special and rather unique in the Adirondacks since it looks off to the lakes region to the north and west, and the mountainous High Peaks region to the east and south - showing off both the lakes region and the mountains.

This panorama was taken in June so the leaves on the trees on most of the mountains still have the fresh green look of spring leaves. The view starts with Upper Saranac Lake reflecting the bright sunlight, Middle Saranac, and then Lower Saranac Lake stretching off into the distance. Whiteface Mountain is visible beyond the eastern summit of Ampersand, Algonquin is off in the distance to the southwest, and the rugged Sewards rise on the other side of Ampersand Lake. This spectacular view is enjoyed by many who climb the mountain during their stay at the nearby state campgrounds or elsewhere in the region.
