Nature panorama of the Adirondack mountains from Round Mountain

This nature photography panorama was photographed on a brisk January 2001 morning from an open rock knob just to the south of the summit of Round Mountain in the Adirondack High Peaks. This view is a bushwhack from either the summit - or a rugged walk up from Route 73.

The view offers a slightly different perspective than what you get from the actual summit. I waited until conditions cleared after an overnight snow flurry had deposited a dusting of snow on the mountains. This view of the High Peaks encompasses the Dix Range, Nippletop, Noonmark, the Great Range, Round Mtn. summit, Giant, and Rocky Peak Ridge.
