Panorama of soft ocean waves at Acadia National Park, Maine

I've been interested in experimenting with different techniques for capturing the effect of water movement in a still image. One choice is taking long exposures of flowing water to create a very soft and gentle effect. Another method is to do multiple exposures on one image which gives just slight definition to each exposure.

The Roundshot doesn't work for this type of multiple exposures since both the film and the lens moves to photograph a scene. With the Noblex however, only the lens rotates during an exposure, so the film stays exactly in place. The 135U has a multiple exposure feature, so as many exposures as desired can be done on the same image.

This image is the result of about 30 exposures of the same scene. The result is a soft effect, but gives a bit more perception of motion than if it was done with one long exposure. The softness of the overcast day gives rather even tones to the image, but still brings through the warm color of the pink granite.
