The headwaters of the East Branch of the Sacandaga River flow from the wild reaches of the Siamese Ponds Wilderness area in the central Adirondacks. There are numerous gorges, cascades and waterfalls as this river flows toward it's junction with the West Branch just north of Wells in the south central Adirondacks. This gorge is near the southeastern corner of the Siamese Ponds Wilderness, just west of Bakers Mills. It's quite rewarding to explore in the backcountry and come across wild, primeval scenes like this. | |||
